Alhambra City Council

The Alhambra City Council is elected by the citizens of Alhambra to guide the policy affairs of the community. Each of the five Councilmembers is elected at large to serve a four-year term from five geographic districts. Municipal elections are held in November every two years on even-numbered years. Under a rotational system adopted in 1984, each Councilmember serves as Mayor for a nine-month period. The City Council appoints the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Commission members.

The Design Review Board has design control over all commercial, industrial, and residential planned development permits reviewed by the Planning Commission and reviews uniform sign plans for all multi-tenant buildings. Alhambra Chamber Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is composed of the President, President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer, Immediate Past President, Executive Director, and two Directors appointed by the President. The Executive Director is an employee of the Chamber and ex-officio member of this committee. In the interim between meetings of the board, the Executive Committee has the charge of the routine business of the Chamber and prepares an annual Chamber budget for approval of the full board.
