On Saturday, April 24, Mission High School will honor the educators and heroes of the pandemic by hosting a virtual fundraising gala.
Although Covid-19 has forced cancellations of mainstay activities, it doesn’t mean seniors can’t still be celebrated for their amazing achievements.
The program, sponsored by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), is part of a national effort to identify higher-performing schools and districts that are improving student outcomes.
A Makerspace is a collaborative space where students gather to create, invent, and learn. The Ramona MakerDen has been outfitted with some of the latest programming, prototyping, fabrication, and manufacturing equipment to help students develop their design skills and bring their imaginations to life.
“This has been my dream for years,” said Mrs. Pekkala-Flagan. “I look forward to learning how Finland’s teachers use project-based and phenomenon-based learning to put science and technology into a context that is relevant for students and makes learning both exciting and meaningful.”
Alhambra Performing Arts Center, under the direction of Artistic Director Bill Yee, will present award-winning concert pianist Ashley Kuen Hoe at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Sage Granada Park United Methodist Church, 1850 W. Hellman Ave. Alhambra.
