The necessity of employee handbooks is not commonly known to business owners, especially to small and mid-sized businesses. Also not commonly known to many of the business owners are legal precedents regarding the languages that should be used for particular groups of employees. Furthermore, many business owners simply believe that having one version of an employee handbook is all that is needed. However, it is generally more important for the businesses to actively maintain and follow up with the policies and procedures detailed in the employee handbook. Simply put, a business owner in California, particularly Los Angeles County, must never forget that employment laws are always evolving.
The Chamber's monthly business training program is offered on the third Thursday of each month and is facilitated by Alhambra business leaders with a track record of success.
The cost of the program is free to Chamber members. There is a $15 charge for non-members. Lunch is included.
