Rotary Club of Alhambra presents 29th annual Mini Grants awards to Alhambra School District teachers in Distance Learning

Rotary Club of Alhambra awards Mini Grants to teachers from Alhambra School District elementary and high schools.

The Rotary Club of Alhambra presented its 29th annual Mini Grants awards to 25 Alhambra Unified School District teachers in a ceremony Jan. 12 via a virtual district board meeting.

The grants were presented by Dr. David Snyder, chairman of the Mini Grant selection committee, and Valarie Gomez, president of Rotary Club of Alhambra.

Open application for the Mini Grants was from October to November 2020. The number of recipients this year have dropped in comparison to past years, with 32 applications, due to Distance Learning this school year. The Rotary Club granted about $6,000 that went to teachers from Alhambra School District elementary schools and high schools. Rotary has donated over $230,000 in Mini Grants over the years.

Additional funding was provided by The Alhambra, Kerechuk Motors, Republic Services, Transtech Engineering, Spark Academy, and Beggxis H. Lieberg, DDS.
