The exhibition features original works of art by 20 local and international artists, including artists with disabilities, who brought their unique art pieces depicting Frida Kahlo's legendary life, art, and legacy.
The Academy of Special Dreams Foundation will honor a distinguished Latino leader, Fernando De Necochea, who has worked to foster a more inclusive society and better the Latino community in the greater Los Angeles area Saturday, Oct. 20.
Michael Dergar is a visual artist whose life mission is to bring public awareness to those with special needs.
Kaitelynn Ng, senior at Mark Keppel High School, was named the Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley’s (Club) Youth of the Year.
“Monterey Highlands Elementary School is one of just 11 schools in California and one of 141 schools nationwide who received this award,” said Suzie Lee, Monterey Highlands Elementary PTA secretary.
The Academy of Special Dreams believes that all persons, regardless of their disabilities, should have equal opportunities to express their talents and to be successful in the arts.
