The Alhambra High School Hall of Fame Committee is organized for the purpose of recognizing the outstanding achievements of alumni and other distinguished individuals, and assist with funding efforts of programs at Alhambra High School.
The Alhambra Educational Education, or AEF, is a nonprofit organization that is focused on raising funds for programs, curriculum and materials that directly benefit all 15,000 students and 18 schools in the Alhambra Unified School District (AUSD). AEF is proud to be the official fundraising partner of AUSD, and has donated more than $1.5 million to the District since our inception in 1993.
The Alhambra Historical Society, founded in 1966, invites you to become a member and help further the aims of their organization. Annual dues are $5 per student, $15 per adult or $25 per family. A corporate membership is $150 and individual life membership is $200. The annual membership runs from July 1st-June 30th. The Library is one of the busiest libraries in the State of California, circulating as many as 500 items an hour. On average, about 44,000 individuals visit the library every month, and check out about 550,000 items every year. Asian American Economic Development Enterprises, Inc. began in 1977 by helping Chinese immigrants acclimate to their new environment and to obtain financial security. It has since grown into a full service 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to economic self-help for Asian Americans and others. Its activities include workshops and seminars, business assistance for beginning and fledgling enterprises, access to funding for growing ventures, information support for the business community, advocacy for small and minority firms and individualized career consultation.
The Asian Business Association was founded in 1976 to proactively help Asian Americans gain access to economic opportunities and advancement. Through the efforts of the organization the ABA works towards bringing together divergent groups spanning the Asian business community on issues which mutually affect their business interests.
Asian Youth Center (AYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit community based organization serving the social service and educational needs of all youth and families, with a focus on Asian Immigrants.
The Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley has been a cornerstone of the community since we first opened our doors in 1972. We provide a safe, structured environment for young people after school, during holidays and on summer vacation. Youth ages 6-17 are encouraged to join and open the door to all of the fun and exciting activities we have to offer.
Play Smarter International and Local Basketball Camps and Classes were founded by Coach Richard Marquis many years ago. The Sporting News and many other publications have called these classes and camps "one of the best youth training basketball programs held throughout the West Coast and now around the world". These PSB camps have recently become very popular in many parts of Asia. We are spending a lot more time training teams, coaches, and individual athletes from Japan, Korea, and currently throughout Mainland China. For the past ten summers, Coach Richard Marquis and our staff have conducted travel camps and competitions in many different parts of Mainland China. Our staff plans to continue our summer trips into Asia during the next few years and most likely long into the future.
The Rotary Club of Alhambra Club, one of the oldest service clubs in the city, boasts more than 70 active members who, through the Avenues of Service, are committed to improving the quality of life for those business and professional leaders who live and work in the community.
New Generation Rotary is a theme for new Rotary clubs that break the mold of a typical morning breakfast or noon-time meeting. San Gabriel Valley New Gen Rotary is focused on making Rotary accessible to a younger professionals for whom it may be more desirable to meet in the early evenings.
Three city managers from Alhambra, Monrovia and West Covina recognized the need for a regional entity for the purpose of advocating, marketing, and expanding the economic base of the San Gabriel Valley. These city managers and several private sector business leaders came together to create the San Gabriel Valley Commerce and Cities Consortium to leverage the power of the region and to promote the valley.

The West San Gabriel Valley REALTORS® (WSGVR) has been established since 1922, representing over 3,000 REALTOR® members. WSGVR is the Voice of Real Estate for the Los Angeles County & San Gabriel Valley areas serving the communities of Alhambra, Rosemead, Monterey Park, San Gabriel, and Temple City. Our membership is composed of residential and commercial REALTORS® who are brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, and others engaged in the real estate industry.
The YMCA of West San Gabriel Valley started in 1912 by three men (State Senator N.W. Thompson, Spencer W. Hudson, and Judge W.H. Northrup) with a budget of $1,250! In the 1930's Miss Catherine Soper deeded two plots as an addition. As time passed YMCA opened a new facility in 1952 which was outgrown in 1985. Through a partnership with the City of Alhambra, the current site opened in 1993 with significant upgrades for programs and was negotiated on a long term lease basis and fundraising began with cities we serve: Alhambra, Monterey Park, Rosemead, and San Gabriel.
