East LA/San Gabriel AJCC (County Program)

Business Service Representative: Create and build client relationships while sponsoring interaction to obtain projects. Assist employers and businesses to access WorkSource Center services, including recruitment services, customized training, rapid response assistance, and access to tax credits and various other business services.   Provide job placement, job readiness, career counseling and follow-up services for job seeker clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Market to employers the array of business services available through the WorkSource Center.
  2. Provide employers recruitment assistance, pre-screening, candidates, and customize referrals.
  3. Provide employers access to customized training, tax credit information and other business services available through the WorkSource Center.
  4. Participate in the development of Rapid Response plans.
  5. Provide job readiness training.
  6. Provide career counseling and labor market information.
  7. Provide direct placement assistance including job referral and obtaining OJT training sites with local businesses.
  8. Refer participants to employers.
  9. Job coaching and counseling, and perform participant follow ups and documentation in a timely manner.
  10. Develop and update participant IEP’s, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  11. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, or closely related field. Experience offering specific and substantial preparation of the duties of the position may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis
  2. A minimum of four years of recent experience in business development and/or research and development field. Prior experience in the field of employment and training, marketing, human resources and counseling.
  3. Understanding of the WIOA, particularly program mandates and performance outcome requirements.
  4. Knowledge of labor market information and industry trends.
  5. Strong ability to identify and create job opportunities, including on-the-job training sites with local businesses.
  6. Computer experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and e-mail.
  7. Ability to work within deadlines, and manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  8. Ability to work with “hard-to-serve” adults and youth who possess one or more barriers to employment.
  9. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  10. Bilingual (Mandarin/Cantonese)
