Alhambra School District’s Food & Nutrition Services Department launches new Grab & Go schedule

Food Services employee Mei Saedan prepares hundreds of meals in the Granada Elementary cafeteria in preparation for the school district’s Grab & Go service.

As the Alhambra Unified School District’s Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) department continues to meet the demand of providing meals for kids in the community, they’re also trying to limit the amount of time essential staff needs to distribute on campuses.

To maintain the safety of families and staff, FNS started a new Grab & Go schedule April 8, and it will continue throughout the rest of the school year. FNS will distribute food from three central locations, Granada Elementary, Marguerita Elementary, and Ynez Elementary, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays to children 18 and under. On Mondays, children will be provided with enough breakfast and lunch for two days, and on Wednesdays, they’ll be provided with breakfast and lunch for three days.
