Summer is always busy at the YMCA. Besides their lineup of exercise classes and swimming and the popular workout room there are great programs for the kids. The 2019 Summer Day Camp is already under way. Designed as a child care program, it began this summer on June 3 and will continue until Aug. 2. It may still be possible to sign kids up for a month of this great program. Check the Y’s website, or call 626-576-0226 for details.
For the older kids, ages 8-15, there is a week of outdoor mountain camping at beautiful Camp Ta Ta Pochon. Located in scenic Barton Flats, it is the highest camp on Mt. San Gorgonio. The camp borders the pristine San Gorgonio wilderness area, and a year-round, clear mountain stream runs through the center of camp. The majestic pine trees in camp are the tallest trees on the mountain, making this an idyllic spot for a campground.
There will be a week of camping there this summer from Saturday, July 13, to July 20. The cost is $515 per child for the week, which includes all activities, food, and transportation.
