Ramona Convent’s annual Ramona Challenge offered artistic, athletic, musical, and academic contests for fifth- through eighth-graders.
Ramona welcomed over 700 girls from 20 local elementary schools to compete at the annual Ramona Challenge, a day of competitive fun for girls in grades five – eight. All competitors are selected by their respective schools to compete in artistic, athletic, musical, and academic contests designed and hosted by faculty and students.
The first Ramona Challenge has been traced back to 1993 with about 250 students from 11 participating schools. Guests on campus for the day included teachers, principals, parents, and friends. The competitive spirit was fierce, yet everyone had a great time while enjoying the warm, sunny weather and cooling down with refreshing lemonade and ice cream treats. Food trucks offered a selection of tacos, burgers, and pizza while music provided by student DJs played. Not all participants left with medals, but each one left with ear-to-ear smiles and a taste of tiger spirit.
If a school is interested in participating in Ramona Challenge 2020, please contact Veronica Fernandez, director of Marketing Communications, at 626-282-4151.
