Calvin Chen Coaching International offers one-on-one life coaching to those who are engaged in businesses, sales, management, and nonprofits to assist with developing emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and personal foundation, along with their own needs.
Professional Life Coach Calvin Chen started his life coaching business about five years ago and was inspired by the results and reactions received from those he had helped make a change for themselves. “The experiences were fulfilling and meaningful because I saw happiness and success,” he said. “I want everyone to be happy and successful, and I don’t want them to feel they have to beat themselves up just to be happy and successful. I want people to be at their best in this world.”
Mr. Chen is a high achiever who strives for great achievements. After graduating from UC San Diego, he received the opportunity to work for Tony Robbins, an American author, philanthropist, and life coach. The pressures and frustrations of what he had experienced in life gave him the drive to start his life coaching company. Mr. Chen has always been a deep thinker and a philosopher. He had learned to overcome many life obstacles, and this brought him the inspiration to help others. “I want to help people discover their own way and to expand the awareness of the cause of the problems in their work and environment,” he said. “Professionals and individuals in these industries are leaders who are relied upon and who need to provide their best because everything depends on them.”
Calvin Chen Coaching International hosts workshops and implements teaching for companies across the nation, internationally, and locally in Southern California. With numerous years of experience working with reputable companies and individuals, Mr. Chen teaches; develops assessments, such as behavioral assessments; provides one-on-one and group coaching; and offers consulting on communication strategies and sales.
Clients work with Mr. Chen about two to three times a month for about 40 to 45 minutes per session. Each coaching session can be from six months to even a lifetime, depending on clients’ needs. He will sit with clients and engage in a conversation to find the problem and work up a goal plan. His coaching style consist of collaboration with clients as thinking partners to help them develop self-awareness and provide feedback to open up a realization of self-awareness. He also provides coaching skills for development of skills that are important in working with others. “My role is to help my clients and give them the key to their next level,” Mr. Chen said.
