Mark Paulson accepts award from Rotary District Governor John Chase.
On Sept. 18, the Alhambra Rotary Club recognized Mark Paulson as A Person of Action. Mr. Paulson was born in Alhambra, graduated from Alhambra schools, has been a small business owner in the community, and is involved in commercial real estate in the community. He is a former City Council member and mayor of Alhambra and has great understanding and influence throughout the community.
Mr. Paulson joined Rotary in 1987 and has served in several club positions, including president. He views Rotary as an important organization that makes a difference in the community. Some of the club projects he is especially passionate about are the Annual Christmas Drive, for those less fortunate in the community; Peppy's Heart Walk, which helps children in need through Children's Hospital of Los Angeles; and Spark of Love Toy Drive, which gives a gift to children at Christmas. He was especially instrumental in helping start the New Gen Rotary Club of Alhambra to create a club for the next generation of leaders in Alhambra.
The People of Action campaign was created by Rotary International to bring the Rotary story to life for those who don’t know Rotary. The campaign highlights club members who live the Rotary motto, Service above Self, and serve in their communities to inspire, transform, connect, and celebrate what’s possible. They are individuals who get things done and have a great time working, growing, and learning together.
The Alhambra Rotary meets at noon Tuesdays at Almansor Court. Among the projects the club helps sponsor are the Annual Christmas Gift Drive, Peppy’s Heart Walk, the Teacher Mini Grants Project with the Alhambra Schools, Thanksgiving gifts for less fortunate Alhambrans, Kindness Packets through the Alhambra Police Department for homeless residents, the Tim Siu Scholarship Fund, the Dan Stover Music Award, student visits to the Go For Broke museum, and many more.
Join Rotary and make a difference in Alhambra.
