PopRock Academy, 11 S. Second St., Alhambra, celebrated its 6-year-anniversary Aug. 18. Everyone who visited the school got free candy and had their favorite cartoon characters, animals, flowers, or whatever they wanted painted on their faces to celebrate. New students enjoyed free registration when they signed up for classes and lessons. The festivities continued throughout the week with free candy and free registration for students and guests.
“The PopRock Academy staff is proud to be a part of Downtown Alhambra where the students have performed at countless events over the years,” said owner and veteran actor (God's Not Dead) Paul Kwo. “This past year, PopRock's program grew and introduced its one-of-a-kind YouTube Acting and Productions class, where students make YouTube videos every week. Since last September, students have made over 100 videos released on PopRock's YouTube channel, youtube.com/poprockacademy, including their live streaming Mainstreet Caroling event in December 2017.”
This fall, PopRock is bringing Contemporary Dance and Elements of Art classes to the academy, along with its well-loved acting, dance, and music program. PopRock is also introducing Acting on Camera with Mr. Kwo, where students can learn the secret to a successful Hollywood audition. His students have successfully booked TV shows, films, commercials, and more through his guidance.
“PopRock Academy is looking forward to serving even more students in this coming year, helping our students develop their creativity and living their dreams,” Mr. Kwo said. “PopRock Academy invites you to come and check out our studio. Bring this article with you before the end of September 2018, and you can get our 6-year-anniversary offer of free registration, a $50 value.
