There will be cake and punch for everyone (while supplies last) from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Aug. 12, when the Farmers Market celebrates its 34th year anniversary.
The birthday celebration, which will also feature free crafts for children, face painting, jumpers, and animal balloons, is just the "icing on the cake" because the reason that hundreds of people visit the market every week is not for fun and frivolity, but for the fresh, California-grown fruits and produce.
Many Farmers Market visitors also grab a bite of lunch from one of the food vendors, but on Aug. 12 they will have their dessert first.
The City of Alhambra Certified Farmers Market is located at 100 S. Second St., two blocks west of Garfield at the corner of Main Street and Second. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday of the year, except Easter, rain or shine.
Farmers Market accepts Farmers Market WIC, Farmers Market Senior WIC, and EBT. For questions about the Farmers Market, phone 626-570-5081, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
