James Horton, Mark Keppel High School Automotive Technology teacher, was recognized as one of L.A. County’s Teachers of the Year.

Earlier this school year, Mark Keppel High School Automotive Technology teacher James Horton was recognized as one of Los Angeles County’s Teachers of the Year during a ceremony at the Universal Hilton.

Mr. Horton has taught in AUSD since 1988 and has made his mark as a premier auto shop teacher. He has built his programs up to award winning standards, and his students have gone on to excel in the automotive industry.

“This recognition verifies what we already know: that Jim is one of the best of the best in this profession,” said Mark Keppel High School Principal John Scanlan.

Recipients were awarded certificates of recognition from Los Angeles County and were treated to lunch. Mark Keppel High School is extremely proud of Mr. Horton and the work he continues to do for all of his students.
