On Saturday, Aug. 19, in honor of PopRock Academy’s fifth anniversary in Alhambra, stop by 11 S. Second St. for a special day of celebrations, win prizes, and get free treats while supplies last. Special deals will be offered throughout the month. Phone the Academy to find out what is being offered.
PopRock has increased the types of classes offered. The programs are among the most creative and relevant programs for the times. The staples programs include acting, music, and dance classes. There are music lessons in voice, piano, guitar, bass, drums, strings, and more, along with rock band classes. There are dance programs in hip hop, jazz, break, Kpop, and ballet. A fundamental acting class and an acting on camera class are offered. PopRock has created a new YouTube class, where students learn to make short form videos from start to finish each week for the YouTube medium. PopRock also offers summer performing arts camp programs.
PopRock Academy offers a one-of-a-kind triple threat program, where students learn to perform and get out of their comfort zones. This program starts as young as 3 years old and goes all the way up to adults. There is a Disney musical program where students ages 3 to 7 can learn to sing, dance, and act to Disney musical numbers. Adults can now take Disney musical classes to live out their fantasies. Parents are especially encouraged to join in with their kids to have a chance to perform on stage with their children.
Older students can participate in the signature Glee workshop program, where students sing, dance, and act to contemporary pop songs. Many students enter the class shy and timid and exit the class with much greater confidence in who they are and what they are capable of doing. Advanced students can get professional training from Hollywood professionals and the founder Paul Kwo, veteran actor, musician, performer, and star of the blockbuster franchise God's Not Dead, in the PopRockers programs. Students often get invited to perform at various functions in the greater Los Angeles area. Many of PopRock Academy students have used their training to book professional performing opportunities in Hollywood.
“Stop by PopRock Academy and check out all the creative performing arts classes we offer,” said Mr. Kwo. “As we see more and more traditional jobs being replaced in an automated world, creativity is vitally important for students to nurture and develop. And PopRock Academy is a place where creativity thrives in both the environment and the work of everyone involved.”
