Performing Arts Center presents internationally acclaimed Trio Emporte

The Performing Arts Center will present Trio Emporte at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 23.

Alhambra Performing Arts Center (APAC), under the direction of Chef/Artistic Director Bill Yee, will present Trio Emporte featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Dr. Tae Yeon Lim on at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Sage Granada Park United Methodist Church, 1850 W. Hellman Ave. Alhambra.

Kathy Oh freelanced with many professional orchestras such as San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, California Symphony Orchestra, and Sacramento Symphony Orchestra. She has a large, private studio and freelances around the greater Los Angeles area, enjoying diverse opportunities in music.

Yong Mi Choi has worked on a multi-faceted career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician, and teacher. While in Korea, Yong Mi was a member of the Seoul Symphony Orchestra for five years and frequently performed with various orchestras, including the Korean Symphony, the Bucheon Philharmonic, and the Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra. As a soloist, Yong Mi has been featured with the Kangnam Symphony Orchestra, the Prime Orchestra and the Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra.

Cellist Billy Tobenkin, as cellist of the genre-bending chamber music group The Whyman Project, was a winner of the 2014 Beverly Hills Auditions. Highlights in 2015-16 include a three-city tour with The Whyman Project at venues such as the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills as well as a performance of the Vivaldi Concerto for two cellos in G minor with the Esterhazy Chamber Orchestra of Calabasas.

Pianist Tae Yeon Lim, a native of South Korea, has performed a public recital at Palos Verdes Library and at Music @ Noon Series at Pasadena Presbyterian Church and won the Special Award at the MPE Loeb Competition. In 2012, she won the prestigious Beverly Hills Auditions with a trombonist. As for the prize, she performed in Trinity Lutheran Church, Manhattan Beach and “Music in the Mansion” recital series in the Beverly Hills’s historic “Greystone Mansion” as an active chamber musician.

APAC is a member of the Consortium of Southern California Chamber Music Presenters and the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce.
