Sterling Bank celebrated Lunar New Year on Feb. 11 with the Alhambra community, bank employees, and members of the Alhambra Chamber. The bank offers an extensive selection of banking services at 711 W. Valley Blvd in Alhambra.
“Sterling is an active community bank, and our goal is to provide creative solutions that make sense for our customers,” said Sterling Bank Vice President William Vowler.
The bank’s motto is “We Create Solutions.”
The 711 W. Valley Blvd location in Alhambra was the first location established in the Los Angeles market and opened in mid-June 2015. Three additional locations are being sought for branch openings in 2016 in Rowland Heights, Irvine, and Arcadia.
Along with the newest addition on Valley Boulevard, there are 16 Sterling Bank branches nationwide. The bank’s headquarters and main branch is located in Southfield, Michigan, where the bank was established in 1984.
“We are in the process of hiring additional employees for our future locations in Rowland Heights, Irvine, and Arcadia,” said Mr. Vowler.
As part of the bank’s high customer service standards, the employees serve the community in multiple languages. All of the Valley Boulevard employees in the office are bilingual, many of them are trilingual, and some of them speak four or more languages.
Some of the languages the employees speak include Mandarin, Cantonese, and Taiwanese. The employees pride themselves on welcoming the community with excellent customer service that reflects the needs of the surrounding community.
Sterling is a full service bank offering an array of residential and commercial loan products as well as extremely competitive deposit rates. One of their unique residential loan products is the Sterling Advantage Loan Program.
This program is designed for the community to accomplish the American dream of home ownership. The program was established to support the Asian communities of Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Some of the other products offered by the bank include fast closings, flexible income verification, loan amounts up to $3 million, up to 65% loan-to-value. They also offer great loan options for self-employed individuals and foreign nationals, the ability to purchase or refinance, and primary residence and investment properties.
The original Sterling Bank and Trust Founders are the Seligman family. With 32 years of operation, the bank has numerous success stories. One of those successes is bringing their service to a local level. Sterling Bank and Trust in Alhambra originated over $170 million in loan volume since moving to Alhambra in 2015 helping the Asian community fulfill their dreams of homeownership.
Throughout the years, Sterling Bank has been involved in 33 different philanthropic and community organizations while helping to raise awareness and fundraise money that will support the work and mission of local nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Some of them include Habitat For Humanity, A Miner Miracle, and Project Open Hand.
Along with its community philanthropy, Sterling Bank has committed to being active members of the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce. This alignment is part of the bank’s strong involvement within the community.
“There are banks all up and down Valley Boulevard within close proximity of the Alhambra location,” said Mr. Vowler. “What has always allowed us to differentiate ourselves is our sensible solutions for the customers whether it is through our innovative residential loan programs, such as the Sterling Advantage loan program, or our exceedingly competitive deposit rates with free third party ATM usage and free safe deposit boxes.”
