Alhambra, California, September 29, 2015 – Shea Properties announced today that Sprouts Farmers Market will open its fresh, natural and organic grocery store at Alhambra Place, a 140,000-square-foot specialty retail center located on the corner of Main and Garfield in downtown Alhambra. The center will also include quick service and sit-down dining options, professional services and specialty retailers.
Sprouts Farmers Market offers consumers a complete healthy grocery store experience featuring fresh produce, bulk foods, dairy, meat and seafood, bakery, vitamins, supplements and more. Shoppers will find an abundant selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and barrels of wholesome grains, nuts and sweets. The bright, open stores showcase fresh-baked goods, eclectic beer and wine, and thousands of natural, organic and gluten-free groceries. Sprouts’ knowledgeable service professionals and low prices offer customers a unique shopping experience.
“We couldn’t be more excited with the Sprouts signing,” said Andres Friedman, Vice President of Acquisitions and Development at Shea Properties. “They’ll be a fantastic anchor for the center.”
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza, and The Habit Burger Grill, will be among the first of the new tenants to open, serving up hand-made pizza and burgers starting this week. Burlington will be open later in October, followed by Maido (stationery, gifts and pens), Verizon 4G Wireless and Clear Sight Optometry later this year or early next. Additional tenants will be announced in the coming months.
Located near the city’s civic center, Alhambra Place will include a combination of large and small national retailers and restaurants with open-air patios and walkways to create a pedestrian friendly experience. The retail center began construction in the fall of 2014. The project also includes 88 Alhambra Place, a 260-unit, luxury apartment community adjacent to the retail that is now under construction.
